Tay Ninh, September 6, 2025 – During the “Tay Ninh E-Commerce and Export-Import Supply Chain Networking Forum 2025”, Long An International Port (Tay Ninh, Vietnam) signed two friendship agreements with the Port of Portland (USA) and the Port of Gothenburg (Sweden). This marks an important milestone in the port’s commitment to international integration while expanding maritime trade and logistics networks between Vietnam and major global seaports.

The conference, directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People’s Committee of Tay Ninh Province, was jointly organized by the International Market Development Department and Tay Ninh Department of Industry and Trade. The event gathered nearly 600 delegates, including senior officials from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tay Ninh provincial authorities, relevant departments and associations, and domestic and international enterprises.

The event combined in-person and online participation to link local enterprises with international importers, promote export growth and trade foster business matchmaking, and expand market access among e-commerce companies, logistics providers, distribution networks, and business associations at home and abroad.

Tay Ninh – The region’s new growth driver

Located in Vietnam’s Southern Key Economic Region, bordering Ho Chi Minh City and sharing an international boundary with Cambodia, Tay Ninh has emerged as a modern hub for industry, services, and urban development. The province stands out for its growth in industrial production, high-tech agriculture, trade, and tourism, while serving as a strategic international gateway for Southeast Vietnam. It connects production, consumption, and logistics flows between the Mekong Delta and the Southeast region, reinforcing its role as a vital trade corridor.

In recent years, Tay Ninh has leveraged its advantages to boost commercial growth and services by enhancing the quality and effectiveness of trade promotion activities, strengthening business linkages, and tapping both domestic and export markets. The province has actively fostered partnerships to expand distribution channels, support enterprises in supply–demand matching, brand development, and market expansion.

Representing Dongtam Group at the conference, Mr. Vo Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Long An International Port, presented the port’s comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable development ecosystem. He emphasized the port’s strategic role in directly linking Vietnam into global supply chains, providing end-to-end logistics solutions, and creating value through reduced delivery lead times, lower operational risks, optimized costs, and enhanced competitiveness in international markets.

“As Tay Ninh continues to advance its industries, the Mekong Delta leverages its flourishing agricultural and aquatic output, and Long An International Port strengthens its role as the gateway of the Southeast, our connectivity will establish strategic pillars of development, boost regional growth, and support Vietnam’s Strategy for the Development of Logistics Services to 2030 with a vision to 2050, advancing a logistics sector that is sustainable, efficient, high quality, and internationally connected,” Mr. Huy said.

Two Friendship Agreements Signed, Marking a New Milestone in Long An International Port’s Global Integration

As part of the event, Long An International Port concluded two agreements with the Port of Portland and the Port of Gothenburg. These agreements signal a long-term cooperative relationship, laying the foundation for strategic partnerships that leverage port resources, foster mutual development, and use friendly exchanges as a bridge to further negotiations on broader areas of collaboration.

The Memorandum of Understanding establishing a friendship port relationship between Long An International Port and the Port of Portland aims to maximize the advantages of each port’s resources. It is grounded in supportive policies that encourage the expansion of maritime transport capacity and throughput, promote cargo volume growth, and facilitate the sharing of business networks by introducing potential partners in import–export and logistics services through existing relationships.

The agreement between Long An International Port and the Port of Gothenburg seeks to promote direct import–export activities and enhance logistics service efficiency, not only between the two ports but also more broadly between Vietnam, Sweden, and the wider Nordic region.

On the same day, delegates attending the Tay Ninh E-Commerce and Export-Import Supply Chain Networking Forum 2025 visited Long An International Port. The delegation commended the scale of investment, the port’s integrated master planning, and its comprehensive logistics solutions for businesses, all aligned with the vision of a green port and sustainable development.

The signing of agreements with the Port of Portland and the Port of Gothenburg reaffirms Long An International Port’s commitment to strengthening competitiveness and expanding its international network. Through these partnerships, the port reaffirms its commitment to collaborate with partners and businesses towards long-term cooperation and sustainable development, joining hands in global integration. The port also expressed its ambition to further broaden connections with international partners, creating more practical, sustainable, and effective opportunities for cooperation in the future.

Recently, Tay Ninh Province has made remarkable investments in both road and inland waterway infrastructure, laying a crucial foundation for logistics development. At the same time, the province’s growing network of industrial zones and clusters is opening significant opportunities for investors to tap into local potential and effectively connect with regional supply chains.
