Commitment to Sustainable Development with “Green Logistics”
In response to the environmental challenges facing the port industry and to achieve global objectives, port operations worldwide are undergoing a “greening” process, seeking a balance between environmental impact and economic development. Vietnam’s National Strategy for Green Growth for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has set the goal of “greening” various economic sectors. In this context, “developing green logistics,” encompassing green logistics centers, green ports, and more, is considered a crucial standard.
At Long An International Port, we are committed to operational excellence and embracing both digital and green transformations. Through the adoption of renewable energy sources, resource conservation measures, process optimization, and the reduction of waste and emissions, we are at the forefront of sustainable port operations. Our port facilities are equipped with solar panel systems, energy-efficient LED lighting, and cutting-edge technologies such as CATOS and MOST. Our fleet of tractor trucks adheres to stringent Euro 5 emission standards, and our cranes are fully electric. Moreover, we are actively exploring the implementation of electric or battery-powered equipment, with the ultimate goal of achieving shore power usage by 2030.

Long An International Port has emerged as a critical link, enhancing the regional logistics network
Guided by the government’s viewpoint of mobilizing all resources, especially non-budgetary resources, for comprehensive investment, with an emphasis on the maritime infrastructure system. Seaports, as a critical part of the national maritime infrastructure, also play a vital role in the socio-economic infrastructure of local communities.
The development of a modern and synchronized maritime infrastructure contributes to ensuring marine safety and security, efficiently connecting various transportation modes, and maximizing the advantages of the dominant mode of large-volume cargo transportation. This plays a significant role in international freight transport, reducing logistics costs, optimizing the nation’s resources, and addressing climate change, while also aiming toward greener, more economical, and safer transportation methods.
The port plays a pivotal role in the global economic chain, especially in the logistics and supply chain sectors, serving as an international goods exchange point and a hub for transportation and distribution activities. Establishing Long An International Port, strategically located at the gateway to the Mekong Delta region, has become a crucial link to enhancing the regional logistics network. From the port, goods from the Mekong Delta region are gathered and distributed to destinations worldwide.
