On the morning of February 15, 2024 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), Long An International Port welcomed the new year and formally reopened its operations with the year’s first shipment consisting of 15,000 tons of recyclable polyester staple fiber and PET chips destined for export to Europe. This marks the auspicious beginning of a vibrant and successful Year of the Dragon in 2024.

The inauguration ceremony took place solemnly in the presence of Mr. Vo Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Long An Port Joint Stock Company, along with all leaders, officials, and employees at Long An International Port. During the ceremony, the leadership witnessed the new year ritual for the opening of activities and issued directives for the first shipment at the port. Immediately after, the first shipment, consisting of 15,000 tons of polyester staple fiber and PET chips, was loaded onto the ship for export to Europe. The event marks a significant milestone in the development of Long An International Port, instilling confidence and optimism for a prosperous Year of the Wood Dragon in 2024 with strong growth in import-export activities for the port and contributing to the ongoing development of the logistics industry in Vietnam.
The Springtime Inaugural Shipment in the Year of the Dragon at Long An International Port
Long An International Port, spanning 147 hectares within the 1,935-hectare planned development by Dongtam Group, which encompasses the Industrial Zone, Industrial Services, and Urban areas, creates an integrated seaport service complex in Can Giuoc District, Long An Province. The port features seven continuous berths with a total length of 1,670 meters, one million square meters of storage yards, and is capable of accommodating vessels up to 100,000 DWT. With a design capacity of 3 million TEUs and 10 million tons of general cargo, the port is strategically positioned to serve various needs.
