Job description
- Receive the cargo handling plan from the Operations Shift Supervisor and organize its implementation in accordance with the approved plan.
- Coordinate, assign, and supervise dispatch staff, workers, and contractors during the shift, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinate loading, discharging, receiving, delivery, and container movements at the vessel, berth, yard, and other assigned operational areas.
- Monitor operational progress and productivity, and promptly adjust manpower, equipment, and vehicles when operational issues arise.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure continuous operations, adherence to the operational plan, and minimized equipment and vehicle waiting time.
- Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with handling plans, schedules, and safety requirements throughout cargo handling operations.
- Receive and propose solutions to operational incidents involving containers, cargo, equipment, and cargo handling activities during the shift.
- Monitor compliance with safety, security, fire prevention and environmental protection regulations, while controlling the risk of loss or damage to containers and cargo.
- Monitor and update operational status, report to the Operations Shift Supervisor, and ensure complete and accurate shift handovers.
- Provide guidance and training to new employees and participate in the development and improvement of operational procedures and Work Instructions (WI).
- Provide support to relevant departments and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirement
- Male candidates are preferred, aged 25–40.
- College degree or higher in Economics, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or other related fields.
- At least 2 years of experience in port/ICD/depot operations, preferably with experience in dispatching and supervising container operations. Good English communication skills.
- Good understanding of maritime operations, sea transportation, port operations, and logistics.
- Strong knowledge of container handling, cargo handling, and container receiving/delivery procedures at ports, ICDs, and depots.
- Proficiency in Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) such as CATOS, MOST, SPARC, TOP-X, or equivalent systems.
- Knowledge of regulations related to customs, maritime operations, and cargo handling/delivery.
- Ability to coordinate manpower and equipment, handle operational incidents, and control operational progress and productivity.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure and work in shifts.
